week after spaying

It has been a week since Averey's spaying, teeth extraction, and micro-chipping. I think she is just about back to normal. It is so nice to be past it and not having that worry in my gut.

I think since the spaying Emma has come around even closer with Averey. She comes out and plays and interacts and runs around a bit with Averey. It is so nice to see.

Last Friday when I brought Averey home from the Vet, Emma got the smell and came out and observed and kept a close eye on Averey. I think this has brought them together a bit closer. So, it is really wonderful to have a happier house!

Resting after Spaying

Here is Averey home and resting from her long day yesterday. She was spayed, micro chipped, and she had teeth extracted.

They said she did very well. She had a super lot of energy when we first got home, but now that I am sitting still and doing some time on the computer she took up her position, kind of on my lap. She loves to lay right here while I am doing work.

She needs to rest for about 5 days. I hope she does well. I am very happy with how she looks and her energy. I did not stop for a visit yesterday, because I just get upset when I see animals uncomfortable. I made that mistake with Emma. I love her and wanted to visit, but I knew it was only harder on her and on me. Her vet Dr. Humphries was wonderful and called me yesterday and said she did fine. She had laser surgery for the spaying and the incision spot looks like a boo boo, but not a huge boo boo ouchy. I think we will all survive. She did not even try to fuss with the wound. I don't even see when they put the microchip in, but I think that is super small. So, I am not going to worry. Maybe next vet visit I will ask where they place that.

I had a lot of paperwork to put together to register the microchip with AVID and to register for Pennsylvania Life Time Licenscing, so that will be one more thing I will not have to worry about from year to year, so that is very exciting I think. This is all very new. My family renews licenses on their animals every year. My cousin Linda showed me her blood hounds tattoos for their licencing, then is when I looked into lifetime licensing, but my vet does the microchipping which is just as well.

I will post again as she is recuperating. Oh yeah, here is an image of the teeth that were extracted.

Sorry if this grosses you out, but this is what is going on in Averey's life. I will try to get a photo of her boo boo too to share.

Oh and Emma was able to smell something is up with Averey and looks concerned. And Averey was very interested in where her kitty sister was, so I took her in to see where Emma was sleeping on the bed. I think Emma will be a ver good big sister. She was talking a bit, but keeping her paws to herself and being nice and gentle with Averey.

Spay Day!

Well, I dropped Averey off at 8 a.m. Today is the day that she will get spayed and micro-chipped, then I will submit forms for life time Pennsylvania dog licensing.

I am a bundle of nervous energy getting through today. I hope there is no tricky topics that come up, because I may spontaneously combust on someone.

I am scheduled off tomorrow to pick her up and spend the day at home making sure she is ok.

I know she will be and spaying is the right thing to do. She was almost sent to a home where they were do not spay/neuter their animals. I am completely against that mind set. I wish all animals a wonderful life, where there is no worries about accidental litters. So many pets are in need of homes especially in today's economy. Some day, when I have a house with a real yard, I hope to become active is chihuahua rescue. I wish them all happy healthy homes and to not be treated like an accessory. I makes me boil when I see celebrities flaunting around their chi's. Although Mickey Rourke promised to take his 18 year old, Loki, who was by him through some rough times to the Oscar's, but he was sadly lost on Monday.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I just thought I would post on this Valentine's day, because I have not posted in a while.

I just want to post my very first Valentine!

Along with my other Valentine!

Averey is scheduled to be spayed on Thursday of this week. So, keep her in your thoughts and prayers. I dread it. I hate seeing an ouchy critter. It was awful with Emma and it will probably be worse with Averey. But it has to be done, so there are no future worries.
