My brother got in touch with me about 8. I was out dancing. He never leaves a message. I saw he called. He not only called he left a message. Julie call as soon as you could. Not like Phill. Scary tone. I called. Is mom ok, is dad ok? Yes mom and dad are fine. Sigh, thank goodness, but that is not it Jul, Mom and dad are at the emergency vet, on their walk they were attacked. He did not know any more, but he was waiting and you need to wait for a call from mom. So, it was hurry up and start waiting. So, I took a deep breath and I stayed composed and stayed where I was, then started on my way home with liz. I told her and Bruce. After I dropped my friend off I called my brother. He was more upset than I realized. So, escalate, escalate. That called ended in Ready to go and blow those dogs apart and tears from him and tears from me. What do I do. I call Aunt Rox, who I knew would talk to me, she held in the extent and kept me as calm as I could, it was about 11 pm. Then my phone buzzed, got to go, it is mom. Mom was calm, but exhausted at this point, I think more exhausted. They kept Sarah and Ruby overnight at the emergency vet, which its hours are from 7pm to 7 am. They were heading home for sleep and to get back there before they closed for the day. So, the next day I call, could not sleep I could not rest. I could not call until after they picked up the girls. So, finally I called around 7:30 am. How is my baby. Mom was to exhausted, but had to go to work. Sarah has a drain tube and Ruby made the vet laugh, she stayed standing and would fall asleep, then fall over wake up, then stand up again to do it all over again all night long, but they wanted to observe and keep an eye on both girls, Sarah had surgery to put her back together in the middle of the night and get a drainage tube for more healing. But they went home. So, whew, they were home, but they wanted me to stay put, go to work a big town meeting at work, I needed to be at. Ok, suck it up, if dad says go to work, go to work. Thursday night the girls had to go visit their regular vet to get new vaccines, since the lack of vaccinations of the dangerous dogs canceled out their current vaccines. In the waiting room there were two large dogs and the site of them, who they were scared, scared the lives out of the two already terrified little girls.
Friday, I had to present at a conference, so I went determined to get through the day, get through my presentation. I got great compliments, but my full concentration with worrying about Sarah and Ruby. I decided to just pack up an get home after conference. So, went home packed and got on the road. The girls had to go back to emergency vet for follow-up and for Sarah to have her drainage tube removed. So, I worked myself into a tither heading home to pack and get on the road. I kept watching the time 6, 7, then 8. I finally called. How are my girls. I was in a complete wreck crying not being able to breath. They are on the mend. That is all they would say. So, three hours later, I walked in to the front door. one, two, three, four dogs. Sarah, her tail wagging, I got down on the floor the house was dark, I thought mom was sleeping. A smooch, Sarah kissed me. She was happy to see me. I was double parked and had to get in.
This is what I saw. Sarah looked like a Frankenstein. Or her new name FrankenSarah and Ruby just looked comical. They were decked out in their new umbrellas.
My first glance at them. It hurt so bad. It hurt my eyes. I can not imagine what they went through. What a nightmare. Who would let man nor beast live through something like this. This is a sin an absolute nightmare.
Sarah is getting back to us. I took home a new batch of bonie home made sannie dog treats, so I gave her one. I gave her two. She is eating, thank goodness. She did not want to drink, but is slowly starting to.
They are on pain, antibiotics, and whatever else. They get their boo boo meds in special food and are taking it. They are eating.
Sarah wanted to be by me and hog my bed. She jumped up in my lap even Sunday. She is getting back together.
This has got to be the most horrible event in our entire lives.
Please protect your children. Protect your four legged babies.
There has to be something that could be done about negligent dog owners. Careless dog owners. There should not be vicious dogs in small close towns.
Summer is just beginning. Walking season just began and ended for Sarah and Ruby before the season could start. My mom said no walks for her girls. She is afraid.
I took Averey for a walk down to a neighbors to pick something up. But boom, bark bark bark, and oh my god. I could not bend down and grab my little later faster. I held her hugged her with a death grip. I can now honestly say that I am afraid with my life of large dogs. Of large barking vicious sounding dogs. No more dog park for Averey. There is a leash rule in my neighborhood. Only local walks from now on for my Averey.
So, here is to Sarah and Ruby to get back to good health!!!
